Jenny, this was a good read. I knew you had quit your job, but I didn’t know the info behind it. Also, that you now have a couple of other part-time gigs. That’s great. It’s funny, I think people our age, especially if we’ve been mostly stay at home moms, aren’t ready to quit working altogether. I have not been at my GED job since March as GED testing was always in person. And I definitely am going a little bit stir crazy. Is it because of being at home? Or because I really want to work and do something? I’m not even comfortable volunteering at some of the things I’ve done in the past, because of Covid. Anyway, I enjoyed reading about your thought process on your employment and how it works with your new life in Florida!

Wow, crazy weather in VA this week! We went from cold (for Florida) and windy weather and having the heat on earlier in the week, to hot and humid this weekend, and now I have to turn the AC on to sleep tonight! 😨
I hope the GED testing comes back before too long. It must be needed and missed!
Yes, things will eventually return to "normal", but who knows when. My GED boss keeps saying the GED testing will start up again soon, but FCPS is such a large bureaucracy, and our program needs some changes to happen, so they are sloooooow to happen! Played tennis outside yesterday and now watching the snow come down today. Crazy world all around!
Hi, Karen! Thanks for reading my latest 😊. I think it's definitely easy to go stir crazy without work and things to do once the kids are grown. Luckily we have tennis and pickleball to fill some of that time! I'm sorry you lost your GED job because of the pandemic. Hopefully once you are fully vaccinated, that work will come back to you. Just waiting for the world to go back to normal.... Some day. Though it may never be what it once was. We'll probably have masks forever. I've built up quite a collection. Who knew, a year ago, that face masks and social distancing and hand sanitizer would soon become a major part of our lives?! Crazy. Miss you. Some day we'll play tennis together again -- you, me, Marcy and Nancy. 😘
